Kaylann Loraine, President and Executive director

Kaylann holds a bachelor’s degree in Geographical and Political Sciences, with an emphasis in Environmental Sustainability and a minor in Earth and Space Science.
With a background in sustainability reporting, environmental data analysis, and GIS mapping, Kaylann is passionate about making environmental information accessible, transparent, and understandable for the communities most impacted by environmental risks. She believes that informed communities are empowered communities, and her work focuses on turning complex data into practical tools for education, advocacy, and action.
As a mother and environmental advocate, Kaylann’s commitment to protecting people and the planet is deeply personal. Her leadership and impact were recognized in 2024, when she received the Rising Star WISE Woman Award for her work advancing sustainability and data-driven environmental advocacy. Through EcoSavvy Insights, she continues to champion environmental justice, education, and long-term solutions that support healthier communities for generations to come.

Kimberly Barker, Vice-president and Director of Communications
Kimberly is an award-winning journalist with more than a decade of experience covering news throughout Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. She also serves as the communications director for Local Environmental Action Demanded (LEAD) Agency, Inc., an environmental justice nonprofit organization in Miami, Oklahoma. www.leadagency.org
Her passions include transparency, accountability and environmental advocacy.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Kimberly earned her journalism degree from Middle Tennessee State University before moving to Joplin in 2014. She was awarded the 2021 William E. James Outstanding Young Journalist Award from the Missouri Press Association for excellent news reporting, community engagement and dedication to holding the powerful accountable.

Amanda Shuey, Treasurer
Amanda Shuey serves as Treasurer for EcoSavvy Insights, bringing a strong commitment to community service, faith-based outreach, and support for vulnerable populations. She is actively involved with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she participates in community outreach efforts focused on serving individuals and families experiencing poverty and housing insecurity.
With experience supporting local service initiatives and women’s empowerment groups, Amanda is passionate about helping meet the needs of underserved communities and uplifting the next generation of leaders. She strongly supports youth-led advocacy and believes in the importance of protecting both people and the environment through compassion, service, and stewardship.
As Treasurer, Amanda provides trusted oversight and guidance, helping ensure EcoSavvy Insights remains grounded in integrity, accountability, and its mission to serve the poor, vulnerable, and future generations.
